PRESENTING THE ERASMUS PROJECT
The term ‘Erasmus’ owes its name to philosopher, theologian, and humanist Erasme Rotterdam (1465-1536). The program was created by the European Union for students enrolled in higher education programs. Initiated in 1987, it has been growing ever since. Today it is a Europe-wide institution open to nearly all European universities. It is also accessible to a select number of private establishments which offer quality programs, and who have thereby gained eligibilty.
